Just finished the Granny Square Quilt along. I was quite happy with it. I am glad that I added four more blocks. It will now fit a twin size bed.

I like the touch of red mixed with the pink and white. I picked this red up in Pennsylvania a couple of years ago. I have added this to a couple of other quilts and really liked it.

I also joined the Vintage Holiday Quilt Along starting August 6 th. I almost bought this pattern last winter and figured I had enough to do then and forgot about it. Now I can do it. I picked up the material yesterday. My grandson just broke my husbands camera so I can't take any more pictures now. My husband took mind with him to work and I won't see him until Thursday. Now I have to go buy him a new one since I let him play with it. I have been wanting to buy a new one anyway, one that takes good night pictures.

My husband came home with this little gift for me.

It's so pretty. There was no directions for looking after it and I have such a green thumb. Maybe I will have a little luck with this. Hope I don't kill it.

RTQUAL

Well it is the end of the week again. Just finished my block for the RTQAL. Today I am home by myself and am spending a quiet morning in my sewing room and I still make a mistake on my quilt block. The light area was supposed to be dark brown. I was so mad at myself but can't take it apart as I will probably run out of material before I finish this quilt. In the end it will fit in and will look great. My mother in law says you always should make a mistake on a quilt. It brings it luck. This should be the luckiest quilt around.
So here is the South Dakota quilt block.

RTQAL

Just finished putting eight blocks together for the RTQAL. My granddaughter Lauren and her friend Emily are holding it up for me. Lauren is on the right. They decided I should take them shopping. So much for spending the afternoon sewing. Well there is the rest of my life to sew for only such a short time to spend with grand kids. And another thing a trip to the fabric store. I hear there is a sale on.

#8 Minnesota Quilt Block

It's hard to believe that this is block number eight. The summer is slipping by. This block is Minnesota state. Eight more to go.
A wet rainy day so should be able to spend time in the sewing room today. Plan on getting some of the Boarders with Bowls done. Cross my fingers that nobody asks me to do something although I do have my granddaughter here with a friend.

The Granny Quilt Along

Twelve blocks for the Granny Quilt along, only four more to go and then I think I will add some borders. Just got back from Prince Edward Island. Have to babysit my two grandchildren for the next two weeks. I hope to get some sewing done in the evenings. I have been really enjoying everyone's pictures and helpful tips. I have been learning so much. Thanks everyone.

Spent the afternoon working on the next block for the Road Trip Quilt Along, the Iowa Star. It was very changeling. Once I figured out how to paper piece it went well. Need a little more practise but I am sure before we finish the sixteen blocks I will get the hang of it. I was pleased with this one.

At Cupcakes'n Dasies she has a sight talking about how to use the Starmaker 5, 6, 8 ruler. Its very interesting on how to use this ruler. I never knew how to use these rulers and if anyone wants to know here it is.

Finished my quilt block Illinious, from the Road trip quilt along. I was quite happy with this one. It went togeather quite nicely.

Its hard to believe its Friday again tomorrow and the next block will be out.

Just got back from the fabric store. There was so much to choose from. These are what I choose. The greens are for the Bowls and Boarders and the pinks is just because I liked them. I am sure they will go wonderful with whatever I choose to make with them.

Finally figured out how to take pictures from my camera instead of my phone. Kids are good for something. This is my sewing room that I finished this winter. I really enjoy working here. Camping at Yogie Bear Park in Woodstock NB. Having a great time with all my grand children. It is really hot up here. Had a thunder shower for about half hour. Cooled the air a little. Have a great day.

Bowls with Boarders Blog Hop

My practise block for the Bowls with Boarders Blob Hop. Not sure what my design will be but will come up with something. I am great with following patterns so this will be different for me.
I am not sure that I would want to make a queen size quilt paper piecing but this is fun. A nice wall hanging for my new kitchen will probably be what I will aim for.
Working on the Bowls with Borders Blog Hop, paper piecing. It is quite interesting. Paper piecing is an art. Wonder if I can master it. I have two bowls made and hope when I get it togeater it looks fine. I will have pictures when I am happy with it. Good luck to all the girls trying this.

Three friends and I get togeather once a week during the winter months and have a great time. We work on whatever we are doing and once in awhile we make a project togeather. One of my friends wanted to make aprons. We found a cute project and this is mind.

I had some blocks left over from a quit that I made so I made it up into a table runner. There are two.

Hi everyone. Another beautiful day on the Island. Hope everyone is having a great day. We are heading to North Rustico for Canada Day and the fire works. Its always beautiful down there.
I was working on my blocks for the Road trip quilt along and decided to put the first four togeather. I was anxious to see how the green material I bought went with it.
