Cathedral Window Pincushion

Craft Day at my friend Connie's with Marjorie was another fun day. I saw this tutorial  With Kim at My Go Go Life made this beautiful pin cushion. I have always loved the cathedral window pattern and have never made it. What a good way to learn how to make it by doing a pin cushion. They are so cute.

Aren't they cute. One is for me and one is fore my mother n law for her birthday. I also want to get her one of those  Fons & Porter pencils. I just got one for myself and love it.

My little helper Owen. Four years old and has his own I pad. He knows how to run it better than I can.  They are so smart before they even go to school. He starts kinder garden  next Sept. Where the time goes. He looks just like his father at that age and acts like him also. Its to funny.

A new corner  to my sewing room. I extended my table to the wall which is closer to my design wall. I also got my husband to lower the table 1 1/2 inches which makes a big difference to my shoulder when I sit at the sewing machine to long.  I thought a had a great spot for my new coffee machine until my friend brought up to be careful that the water doesn't over flow onto my sewing machine. Now I have to rethink that one. I also got my husband to add a little drawer which is  great for my attachments for the sewing machine. A couple of more adjustments and I will be happy. for awhile anyway.

I was just to Singers to pick up my machine quilting foot which broke. They didn't charge me which was great. To replace it would of cost 39.99. I picked one up for a friend and it was 14.99.  They looked the same. I also picked up 10 bobbins which cost 9.99 and for a regular sewing machine would of been 3.99. The only difference mine were green. It doesn't make sense. But what are you to do if you need them.

Well off to the sewing room to finish quilting that quilt that I started.

It's All About Me

Today is my turn to show you  my piece It's All About Me by Amy Bradley. Thank you Amy for donating the pattern.

I would like to thank Madame Sam from Sew We Quilts for this great idea and a special thank you to Marlene from Stitching by the Lake for all her work organising this Hop.

This is my piece that I am sharing with you today:

I wasn't sure what I should do with her and planned on making another one but with being away on vacation
I decided I would just make the one. I needed a cove for my serger since I don't use it often so thought this would be a good thing to keep the dust bunnies away.  There has been some beautiful pieces during this blog and I have enjoyed it immensely.

So now as I have been telling people it is time for a give away. Just leave a comment for a chance to win and I will have the draw when this blog is over.  I have enjoyed sharing with everyone and hope you will visit me again. Since now we are wishing for spring to come, at least I am I thought these nice spring fat quarters would make a great gift.

The colour's are a light spring green. It is hard to see how pretty they are.

Here is a list of  the ladies who are showing their pieces today.

Well I have a couple of things to post. I had such a good week in the sewing room this week. Another Christmas present on the go . I was quite happy how this one turned out.

When it is done it will be a tree skirt. My daughter n laws colour's are blue.  This is a kit from Connecting Threads. Another nice one. The material and colour's were great.

My husband  is away this afternoon so I decided to start this. I am going to be brave and machine quilt my first quilt. I have it sprayed and pinned. Now tomorrow if all goes well I hope to start this. I decided to use my walking foot to do the lines and then machine quilt in between the branches and boarders. Wish me luck.

On my trip this year I started these two cross stitch pictures.

This I finished while sitting on our deck on Pureto Rico. It is for my daughter n law who is a nurse. I just have to stretch it and frame it. One Christmas present under way.

This one I just finished. It is also a Christmas gift. I was quite happy with this one. It is hard to see but the berries are little beads that makes the picture pop. Some day when I am out shopping I will find  a couple of frames. It is nice to get a head start on Christmas gifts. It seems as fast as I make things there is something that I need a gift for. Most years it is hard to get anything made for myself. Oh well, I do enjoy making gifts.
Tonight there is a musical at the church and both of my grand daughters are playing. Lauren on the piano and Sara on her violin. Tomorrow night Sara will be playing in a Jamboree in Sussex. The guy that runs these Jamboree's heard her play and was so impressed with her that he asked her to play for him. She is only six years old. It should be a fun night. She is pretty excited. There will be a lot of people. I hope she doesn't get nervous. Hopefully our seats are close enough to get a video.

Well I haven't been on for a couple of days as I have been working on a couple of blog pieces. I finished It's All About Me. Not as fancy as some that has been posted. I have enjoyed everyone's pieces so far. They have been very good. I am also in the Stitch it Up Blog and have got some done on that also.

Also I have working on that quilt that is taking way to long. Boy's the quilting is hard on this one. Its the snowball quilt that has been in long before Christmas. I hope to have it out next week.

I did get one project done. Marjorie and Connie was up and we put together this little table topper that we bought from Connecting Threads. When Black Friday was in the states Connecting threads had a big sale and I bought a few kits. I was very impressed with them and the quality of the material was great. I actually buy quite a bit from them.

My good friend has a birthday this Saturday. It is her 50th so I think this will look very good in her kitchen as her colour's are blue. There was almost enough material to make two. I will substitute a couple of colour's. I was going to machine quilt but used my walking foot instead. It turned out really well.
We have been getting lots of snow today and just waiting to see if it is going to be another snow day tomorrow.  Will have lots to work on if it is.
