It has been awhile since I have posted. We went on vacation and had a great time. First we spent four nights in New Orleans. We did a city tour and a steam boat ride up the Mississippi to the plantation where the Battle of New Orleans was. We learned a lot about the history and glad to see that |NewOleans is doing well. We enjoyed the French Quarter and got our eyes opened on a few occasions. My husband enjoyed the buskers on Royal street. We managed to see a parade for Mardegra. We left for our Cruise on the Carnival Sunshine for Montego Bag. Cozumel and Grand Cayman. The food was great and I gained to much. The weather was hot and everything went well.

I love the color of all the house and the beautiful settings.

We drove through a very beautiful park.

Walking through the French Quarter. So many interesting little nooks and crannies.

We got suck a kick out of all the music on the streets.

The plantation where the Battle of New Orleans So much history here. Listening to the tour guide you could almost feel that you were there.

Our ship. We enjoyed it so much. We sat with a very nice couple from Missouri for supper each night. All the suppers were great. I didn't have any complains about the food.

Our last sunset from the airport before we headed home to a full house. As we were eating out last breakfast on the ship last Sunday morning we got a test from our son Mark. Their house burned down Thursday night and they lost everything. Another five minutes and they would not have made it out. Thank God Mark was not to bed yet. A power bar where his cutter for work and his computer was plugged into blue up. He heard a pop. By the time he ran up to the second and third floor to get his wife and two kids out, called 911 it was to late to get anything. They ran out in their bare feet. He carried them to his truck and by the time the fire fighter got there is was gone. They are now living here. We got home on Monday and I have spent the whole week organizing my house so everyone has a little space. It was a shock to get the email but it could have been a lot worse. Everyone has been so great bringing them so much. That is one nice thing about living in a small community. Everyone cares so much.
This has also been March break so haven't even been to my sewing room to put away the few things I bought while I was away. Tomorrow I think it is off for a sewing day with my friend's Marjorie and Connie. It will be nice to get back at it.

  2. So glad everyone got out safe. I had another friend who got out just in her pj's with her hubby and cat. At least 'things' can be replaced. Recovering from a fire it very stressful, but, so much better than losing someone you love in the process. Make new memories, and hold your family close as they recover.

  3. So sorry about fire. So devastating. Hope all is uphill from here and that better days are ahead.
