Folded Center Piece.

I was going to take a class Tuesday to make this Folded centerpiece but there wasn't enough people that signed up for it. So I bought the pattern and made it myself. I saved myself $40.00. More to buy fabric with. I really enjoyed making this. Would do again. A good project for using up lol those small pieces left over from other projects. You only need a piece 2 by 3 inches for each fold.

I have lots on the go and hoping to get together with Marjorie and Connie to work on a barbello project this week. Need to get my stuff ready for that. Also working on a few placemats. I should have them done tomorrow.

Paper Piecing Class

My finished piece from the paper piecing class that I did at the Fabric Cupboard. I am glad I took this class. Paper piecing is so much fun once you know how to do it right. I used Batiks on this one.

This makes 2 5/8 " blocks. Very tiny. This kit will make three of these little toppers. 

This ruler and cardboard are an asset for paper piecing. There is a lip on this ruler that lines up with the cardboard that will cut to 1/8 ". Made the job so easy. This topper can work into a day project from start to finish. 

I also picked up this pattern. It will make 10 place mats and two toppers. This is my next project. 

A great class. I signed up for this class that will take place in a couple of weeks. These are beautiful. Looking forward to this one. 

 This Dresden plate quilt is finished. It has been awhile since I have worked on it. With going to visit my brother the first of March in Victoria and having the flue and cold for the last three weeks not much sewing has been accomplished.

I did a narrow floundering around the quilt and also on the binding gave it a different look. I just did meandering in the centre and a flower and leaf design around the boarder. Another project off of my bucket list. I will be keeping this one.

I received this quilt book in the mail today from Victoria Findlay Wolfe.  A give away that I had won. A beautiful book. She sure loves colour. I will enjoy the articles that is written  in this book and a couple of projects I will have to try.

Well it is Friday again. The week sure disappeared again. Kids and grandkids will be down tonight. So off for a nice visit at their grandmothers. Friday night get together at my husbands mothers.

My New Toy......

I am so excited. I bought myself a Easter present. A new Husqvarna Seger called Husky lock s21. I will do a class next week and then bring her home. I now have three Husqvarna machines. I was using my daughter n laws machine and it seemed to stopped working. I took it in to get it fixed and decided I didn't want to be the one to break it.  Thank goodness it just needed a good cleaning. These were on for 50% off so the price was right. Nice to get an income tax cheque. They came fast this year, just in time for the sale. 

I actually use a serger more than I thought I would And now will use it a lot more.
