An update on my quilt? It is all together. Very happy with how it turned out. It looks like wheels spinning around. I added two more Dresden plates and it filled it in better. Now to get it stretched and quilted.  This one is for me.

Love how the sun is shinning today. Even with all the snow it is beautiful out.

What a snow day. It has been years since we have had a storm like this. I am amazed that we still have power with the way the wind is blowing around the house. The snow is pretty near up to my living room window and it is two stories in the back. Can't see out the windows downstairs. There is going to be lots of shovelling tomorrow.

I have spent the day working on my Dresden plate quilt and this is what I got accomplished today. So happy with the way it looks.

I am trying to decide if it needs one more in between the two big ones. Tomorrow I will do the boarders. We will see. A good night to put a good movie on and pray that the power stays on.

Settling in for a snow day....

Well getting ready to settle in for the next big storm for the winter. Im really feeling the cold today. We were support to be touring Key West today and on a thirteen day cruise tomorrow. I bet you it is so warm there. Oh well maybe next year. I hated to have to cancel this trip but my husband wasn't able to fly so my mother and I will head to Victoria island in a couple of weeks to visit my brother. Looking forward to spending time with him and his family.
So is everyone preparing for another snow day. I have my grandson here for the night and also started another project.

I bought this ruler when I first started blogging and it has been hanging in my sewing room ever since. I saw a design on the internect a while ago that I have always wanted to try. What a great weekend to work on it. I won this fabric quite awhile ago and it is perfect for what I want to make with it. This ruler makes a great Dresden plate. It should be really pretty.

I finished this tree skirt for my daughter n law for Christmas. It is a Sew Karen-ly created pattern called Woodland Forest. A very easy pattern. I have a few of her patterns that I really enjoy making.

I also have this material for another one of Karen's patterns called Orential Beauty. This is a paper piecing piece. Looking forward to seeing how this one looks.

So I hope everyone is ready for a snow day and have a chance to enjoy their sewing room tomorrow.

Do love these snow days for getting things done. I finished these two projects and had a   very nice visit from my granddaughter  Lauren. She beat me at cards but other than that a  very nice visit.

I love how this Christmas tree skirt turned out. I like when projects come together. My granddughter Lauren was wondering why I was doing Christmas gifts in February.  Never to early to Start.

This is a project I love and a very pretty runner from Sew Fresh Quilts, a Kona Club challenge. This was a new way for me to do the binding, the Flanged binding. Sew Sisters quilt shop has  a tutorial for this. I also found  a video called Susie Magic binding video tutorial from Aunt Marti's
52 Quilts.com. I narrowed the binding by 1/2" as I found it to wide. I really like the effect and it had a very nice finish.

Looks like more snow Thursday. Wonder what I will finish up then. Have  great snow day.
