The first clue was to make 20 of each block. So here they are and now waiting for clue #2. The light colour is the background colour. It is more of a gold colour. It is hard to take pictures. They never show the true colour.

My Mystery Quilt
I must say I am doing something that I have never done before. I am making a quilt that I will have no idea what it will look like. It is a Mystery Quilt. Lindy's Thread is hosting a mystery quilt. I thought it might be fun and since I bought this material from the Fabric Cupboard. It is the Modafabrics line, cattails & clover and summer's end. Very pretty. The Fabric Cupboard had it on sale for $4.99 a meter one week and I couldn't resist.
My Mug Rug
I want to thank Betty Lou for the idea for the mug rug. I decided to try a couple. The first one didn't turn out as I would of liked it. The colours blended in to much.
The second one turned out so much better. I think you always have to make two so you can see the mistakes from the first one.

The colours turned out better, not so blended in. For a pattern go to Betty Lou's sight at American Vintage Quilts. . Her mug rug turned out so nice.

Another Christmas Present DONE|||
Well I was looking for a gift for a certain person and a friend was going to make this from 5inch charm packets so I thought it looked easy and since I had the book I started it yesterday. I did the machine quilting on it and I must say I was quite happy with it. I used my walkling foot and the double needles that I learned from my Free Motion Quilting. Towards the end I was getting the hang of it. Here it is.
I think I am going to enjoy this free motion Quilting. It does get easier with practise. Now back to the sewing room to start something else. Hope everyone has a great day.

And now for the give away. I have been spending a lot of time trying to figure out what to give for a give away and decided to make something. It will be something special to remind everyone what fun we had on this blog.
The only rule for this give away is to be a follower and leave a comment on how you have enjoyed this blog. Oh you are wondering what the give away is. Here is a picture.
This sock pattern was in a tutorial and I thought it was so nice that I made four to hang on my mantel for my four beautiful grandchildren. And you know Christmas stockings, they may have something special in them. Have fun with the rest of the blog and thanks for letting me be a part of it.

Road Trip Quilt Along
I just got back my quilt from Wendy Billings that does machine quilting. She did a beautiful job. I was very happy with it. She did different techniques on each block and different ones on the boarders. It will come in handy for when I do Machine quilting. Her prices were great. I was glad that I took it.
Wendy Billings Country Quilt Finishing from Sackville NB. She picks up and delivers at the Fabric Cupboard.
My Free Motion Quilting Day

Another Christmas gift.
This is for my granddaughter Sara for Christmas. She is our little fiddle player. She is quite amazing for only six years old. Her mother just made a music room for her and her brother James who started guitar this year. It should go nicely in their room. I will have to do one for him next year.
It will be an interesting week. I have to make three angel costumes and one mouse costume this week for the Sunday school concert. My friend Connie and I are signed up for a free motion quilting class Tuesday. I hope there is more hours in this week than there was in last week.

I finished a couple more cross stitch pictures today. I had my grandson Owen today. But I did manage to get these done.
Two more Christmas presents. I must get wrapping to see if everyone is getting a gift or if I have to do more shopping.
A little piece of my Holiday Lane blog hop. It is coming around the corner. I was very happy with this pillow.

A very Productive day.
A very productive day. Last winter I cross stitched a few cross stitch pictures for Christmas gifts. I got three framed today.
Not sure who will get this cute little one yet. It is called Be Merry.
I cross stitched three of these last winter. One for my granddaughter Lauren and one for her music teacher. She is learning the piano. She does a lovely job. Not sure what I will do with the third one yet. Here it is framed. It turned out really nice.
I also finished my pillow for the Holiday Lane Pillow blog hop.
I will be showing my pillow on November 27. Stayed tuned for all the beautiful pillows and I am sure there will be some give aways also.

Secret Pocket Pillow
I spent the afternoon in the sewing room with my granddaughter Sara. I found these books on Connecting Threads that has great projects for kids." I can Sew" and "I can Quilt" by Lynn Weglarz. They are great if you are trying to find some projects for young girls in the sewing room. Sara enjoyed spending last night browseing through the books trying to decide what she would like to make. She is six. She decided on a couple of small purses and a Secret Pocket Pillow. They were easy to make and she had fun.
She was pretty proud of it when her mother picked her up. So if you are looking for some books with projects for little girls between six and twelve these are the books to get. They didn't cost very much either.

Simple Patchwork Christmas Stocking
Well I had a trying day trying to book my flight to San Juan for after Christmas. Still working on it and hope to have it accomplished when my husband gets home.
Between being on the phone I did get something accomplished in the sewing room. A while back there was a tutorial on making a Christmas sock. I thought it was so pretty that I saved it. I want to make four to match my tree skirt that I still haven't finish yet. I got one done this afternoon. It turned out well and was so easy to make.

The pattern is called Simple Patchwork Christmas Stocking designed by Amy Friend. I am not sure who had the tutorial but thanks. I enjoyed making it.
I also have been working on my new quilt top. I really liked how the boarder turned out.
And here is my view that I sit and glaze at when I need a break, usually because my neck is stiff. I hope to have this one out by the first of December and that will be it until after Christmas.
There is no sun today so it looks alittle dark. This river is always changing depending on the tides. It flows by the Hopewell Cape Rocks. This is why I will live here forever. I hope.

Another finished quilt
Well another weekend gone. It went by so fast. Spent the weekend with my grandchildren. I played alot of Lego which I haven't done since my boys were little.
My goal this weekend was to get out my Christmas quilt and put the binding on. Also I wanted to get another quilt in. One out of two isn't bad. Here is my Christmas quilt.

Now one more to finish before Christmas. I planned to have it in this morning but not sure what to use for the back. My friend Marjorie is stopping in to give me some advice or if I have to wait until Thursday to drive into town to buy more material.
My son Mark and Jennifer come home today from their trip so the kids will be going home. It went really well. It was nice to spend some time with my oldest granddaughter Lauren as she is so busy now with school and friends. She starts her piano lessons tonight. She was so busy with soccer that piano lessons got put on hold. My other granddaughter Sara played her violin this weekend for a show and did really well. She is six. The singer that was there doing the show was really impressed and got quite a kick out of her. He played along with her. They gave her a thank you card and when she got home and opened it there was $20.00. That brought a big smile to her face.
