W.I.P. Wednesday

I am linking up with The Needle and Thread Network for W.I.P. Wednesday. One thing about joining this on Wednesday it gets me motivated to get something accomplished to show. The next two weeks will be slow as I will be away for warmer weather. Can't wait.

I had a good week getting things done. I bought this kit from Connecting threads a couple of years ago to make a baby quilt. There was enough material to make these two Quilts. My daughter n law Jodi's sister just had twin girls last week. I got one machine quilted today and hope to have the other done tomorrow. They are so cute. I love the material. I didn't make the original pattern but saw this one on the Missouri Quilting Club. I love watching the U tube for quilting ideas.

I also made a couple more sets of these towels to have on hand for a quick gift. I love how these towels look. I made a set for myself and they work  great in my kitchen. One set is for my mother n law.

I also finished  the other two baby quilts. They are both quilted and binded.
I am going on a quilting day with some friends on Saturday if the weather is permitting. The girls at my craft night and a few other ladies are meeting at their church to have a day of sewing. It should be fun. I am just taking another kit to work on. A Birthday gift I need for April.

Well head over to visit Monika to see what other wonderful things are over there.

Baby quilt week....

It feels like Baby quilt week for me here as I have four on the go. They are fun to do and gives me good practise for machine quilting.

I had this 4" Charm pack that I won last year and decided to make this little baby quilt. I love the colors in this one. A nice fast one to put together.

I finished  binding the Jacob's ladder.  I love the soft colors of this one.

I just machine quilted little hearts all over these and really liked how they looked. My daughter n law's sister just had twins last week. Little girls. She has two little boys now. What a busy house hole that will be. I have another two little quilts on the go for them. I hope to have them done this week before I go away.

One week from today we leave for our trip. I am starting to get excited. Just got the suit cases out and washed the summer clothes. Now ironed and in the suit case. I am not a big fan of the travelling but love it when I get there. I don't mind the trip home just getting there. Always worried about the weather and delays. Driving to Portland, flying to New Orleans and then taking a Western cruise on the Carnival Sunshine. Can't wait.
Well very happy to have two more gifts off my list. The first one is just to have on hand in case I need a gift.
Starting to see a few more flakes of snow. I went for a walk and it was still to cold.

W.I.P Wednesday

I can't believe it is Wednesday again. Where did this week go. I am linking up with The Thread and Needle Network. Last week my goal was to make a gift and make something for myself.
Well I ended up getting two gifts ready to machine quilt and nothing for me. That's OK. The faster I get my gifts done then I will make myself something wonderful.

I saw this quilt last week on someones blog and thought it was so cute. I used up some scrapes that I had from other projects. I will do this for my mother I think. It ended up being 71" by 71" s. A nice size to wrap up in. I love the soft colors.

This is a Jacob's ladder. Our youth pastor's wife is expecting so I decided I would try a baby quilt. Since his name is Jacob I thought I would do this.  I have never made a baby quilt before. But since I will machine quilt they are a nice size to practice on. Hopefully I will do this tomorrow.

We are having another snow day here. It does look pretty but I am ready for some warm weather. In a week and a half  it is  vacation time. Looking forward to New Orleans and a Western Cruise.
So I am linking up with Monika. So stop on over and visit some nice ladies and see what they are up to.
Let's see what my goal will be for next week. Well to have those two quilts machine quilted. I also have a pattern from Sew Karen-ly Created called Oriental Beauty. She is from Amherst Nova  Scotia. This is a paper piecing piece. A little difference in pace.
